Dress-Up Discovery Workshops

       Tutorials

The Dress for Success program is focused on equipping the youth with essential tools to navigate their professional journeys successfully. Recognizing that career success involves not just skills, but also confidence, we emphasize the critical role that professional attire and grooming play in shaping an individual’s readiness for the workforce. Through a series of hands-on workshops, we aim to empower young individuals by providing them with the career-readiness skills they need to excel. These workshops focus on building both job-specific skills and personal confidence, ensuring that participants are not only prepared for the workplace but also empowered to thrive in their professional lives.

In collaboration with our key partner, Don Morphy Clothiers, we offer two main types of workshops: On-Site Experiences and In-School Sessions. These workshops are designed to provide comprehensive career-preparation skills that address the unique challenges faced by underserved communities, particularly in the North Texas region.

On-Site Experiences: Dress-Up Discovery Monthly Workshops

Our Dress-Up Discovery Monthly Workshops at Don Morphy’s Dallas showroom offer more than just practical lessons in career preparation—they provide young participants with direct access to real-world insights from dynamic speakers. Each workshop features three speakers, each bringing unique expertise to the table.

One of the key speakers is Dacyn Mofor, son of our founder Daniel Mofor, who serves as a young role model and fashion director at Don Morphy. Dacyn teaches participants essential skills such as how to tie a tie and a bowtie, along with other fashion tips and tricks. His hands-on guidance is not only informative but also relatable, showing young attendees that confidence and professionalism can start early.

In addition to Dacyn, each session includes a young entrepreneur, who shares their journey of navigating the challenges of starting a business at a young age. Their experiences offer practical advice on overcoming obstacles, building networks, and pursuing passion projects, inspiring participants to think ambitiously about their own futures.

Finally, an adult professional or established entrepreneur rounds out the speaker lineup, contributing seasoned insights into the workplace. This speaker addresses the importance of workplace etiquette, leadership, and long-term career growth. Their experience helps bridge the gap between early career challenges and lifelong professional success.

Together, these speakers create a holistic learning environment where participants not only gain career readiness skills but also hear personal stories that inspire confidence and ambition. These monthly workshops provide consistent opportunities for young individuals to grow, learn, and prepare for the next steps in their professional journeys.

In-School Sessions: Dress for Success Workshops in partnership with ISDs

We partner with independent school districts (ISDs) across North Texas to deliver tailored In-School Sessions called “Dress for Success Workshopsthat bring essential career preparation tools directly to students. These sessions provide a practical, hands-on approach to developing the skills necessary for professional success, particularly focusing on "Dressing for Success", which aligns with the principles taught in our On-Site Experience at Don Morphy’s showroom. By engaging students in understanding the role of professional attire, we emphasize how dressing the part contributes to their overall confidence and employability in a competitive job market.

To date, we have built strong partnerships with ISDs including Plano, Dallas, Richardson, Mesquite, Forney, and DeSoto, allowing us to reach a wide range of students across the region. These partnerships enable us to integrate career-readiness education into the school curriculum, offering students a valuable resource that many might not otherwise have access to.

In addition to dressing professionally, our In-School Sessions also cover key career readiness topics such as resume writing, interview preparation, networking strategies, financial literacy, and the development of soft skills like communication, time management, and leadership. By addressing these critical areas, we provide a comprehensive toolkit that students can use to navigate their entry into the workforce with confidence and competence.

North Texas is home to a diverse youth population—with 43% Hispanic, 29% White, and 18% African American students—many of whom face significant economic challenges. For these students, career-readiness resources are particularly vital, as they often lack access to professional coaching or career guidance. Our sessions directly address this need, ensuring that even students from underserved communities are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Through these sessions, we aim to bridge the gap in education and workforce preparation by offering all students, regardless of their background, equal access to career-readiness tools. Whether in urban districts like Dallas or smaller, more rural areas, our goal is to ensure that every student leaves high school feeling confident, empowered, and ready to step into the next chapter of their lives. These efforts are crucial in a region with a significant portion of its population under 18, poised to benefit from targeted support in preparing for future opportunities. By working within the school system, we make a lasting impact on students' career prospects, helping them level the playing field in today’s competitive job market.
