Threads for Change was established by Daniel Mofor, whose experiences growing up in Cameroon and passion for fashion led him to create a meaningful impact through the organization. After achieving success with his menswear brand, Don Morphy, in the United States, Daniel founded Threads for Change to extend support and empowerment to communities in need.
Today, the organization is led by Sonya Mofor, who serves as the CEO, making Threads for Change 51% woman-owned. Under her leadership, the organization continues to build on Daniel's original vision of using fashion and education as tools to uplift and transform lives.
In addition to Daniel and Sonya’s leadership, Dacyn Mofor, fashion director at Don Morphy and one of Daniel’s sons, has also played an inspiring role in the foundation’s outreach. Since the 6th grade in 2023, Dacyn has been speaking to groups of young people, sharing essential fashion tips, teaching participants how to tie a tie and bowtie, and demonstrating practical styling tricks. His presentations go beyond instruction—they offer a relatable perspective, showing that confidence and professionalism can be cultivated at any age.
