Miss Forney Scholarship Pageant - Application Process

Join Us for the Inaugural Miss Forney Scholarship Pageant!

When: May 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM
Where: Themer Middle School, 12503 FM 1641, Forney, TX 75126

Note: Applicants must be 11th-grade students who reside in Forney, Texas.

I. Eligibility Requirements
  • Residency - City of Forney, Texas
  • Enrollment Status - Must be enrolled in a public, private or homeschool program
  • Grade - 11th Grade Female Students only
  • Academic Standing -  Minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent
  • Other Qualifications:
    • MUST have plans to attend an accredited college
    • Demonstrated leadership, community service, or specific talents

II. Application Process
  • Complete and Submit Application Form by March 10th, 2025
  • Include Required Documents:
    • Headshot/photo 
    • Academic Transcript
    • Letter of Recommendation 
  • Video submission, or short essay answering the following questions:
    • What would becoming 'Miss Forney 2025' mean to you?
    • How would you use this platform to make a difference in your community?
    • What career path are you most interested in pursuing after high school?
  • Application fee payment - Make payments trough our ZELLE account: info@threadsforchange.org

III. Important Dates (some dates are subject to change)
  • February 10th, 2025 - Application Opens
  • March 10th, 2025 - Submission Deadline
  • March 17th, 2025 - Finalist Notification
  • April 19th, 2025 - Workshop Day (All day)
  • May 17th, 2025 - Rehearsal Day
  • May 18th, 2025  - Award Ceremony/Pageant Day
  • June 11th, 2025 - Winner’s 1st Public appearance

IV. Selection Criteria (maximum score 100 points)
  • Academic Achievement (15 points)
  • Community Involvement (this could include extracurricular activities, 10 points)
  • Essay/Personal Statement - written/video (15 points)
  • Socioeconomic status and Recommendation Letter (10 points)
  • Interview & On-Stage Performance (50 points)

V. Scholarship Award
  • Grand Prize Amount - $5,000 toward tuition/books
  • Distribution - Paid directly to the institution
  • Renewability - One-time award 
  • Usage Restrictions - MUST be used for tuition, books, or other educational expenses

VI. Expectations of Winners
  • Appearances - Represent the scholarship program at appearances, award ceremonies, community events
  • Submit follow-up progress reports or testimonials 
  • Academic Standards - Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 to retain the scholarship
