Celebrating Leadership & Impact: KAG Annual BBQ Honors Threads for Change CEO

Last July 19–20, King’s Accountability Group (KAG) hosted its annual BBQ & Networking Event at 921 N. Riverfront Blvd, Dallas. As the organization’s largest gathering, this occasion marks a powerful commitment to empowering men of color through mentorship, professional development, and community support.

The Lionheart Legacy Award: A Recognition of Courage

At this year’s event, Sonya Mofor, CEO of Threads for Change, was honored with the Lionheart Legacy Award—an award that honors those who demonstrate courageous support and unwavering commitment to KAG’s mission of uplifting men of color.

Why This Matters for Threads for Change

A Community United

The BBQ wasn’t just about awards—it was a celebration of unity and purpose. Filled with dinner, music, games, and impactful dialogue, the event underscored KAG’s dedication to meaningful engagements and practical tools for personal development.

Sonya Mofor’s recognition at the King’s Accountability Group Annual BBQ underscores the power of collaboration in South- and North Texas. Amplifying the shared mission of Threads for Change and KAG empowers us to continue transforming lives through confidence, community, and professional readiness.

Looking forward, we’re excited to build on this momentum—creating more pathways for youth, men of color, and underrepresented communities across DFW.
